Our insect hotels are ready for use!

After researching together in the public library, we set about the task of collecting the materials. We received numerous donations from our families and the wider community: Tin cans, lots of bamboo, straw, absorbent cotton, wool, sticks, stones and other natural materials. These made it possible for us to start our work: We wrapped the tin cans with the wool, sanded them down with sandpaper, cut bamboo sticks and other materials to size and filled the cans with these things. All three groups showed great commitment and helped each other. And the results speak for themselves: the insect hotels are not only beautiful to look at thanks to the loving design, but the insects are also really comfortable in them. Many of the hotels were hung up directly in our back schoolyard. This gives the insects peace and quiet and we can still check from time to time to see if there are any inhabitants in the insect hotels. We are very excited and would like to thank everyone who has contributed!
