On the campaign days, some third-graders and the Gronau police checked Pestalozzistraße and Grünstiege where parents' cabs usually park in a criss-cross pattern in the morning or where cars are speeding.
If they behaved correctly, the road users received a thank-you note and high praise from the primary school pupils and the police. "If the drivers do everything right, they get a thank-you note from us. Then they make our way to school safer!" explained a third-grader.
However, some drivers had to be given a lesson. They parked their vehicle incorrectly or drove too fast. In doing so, they endangered other road users, especially schoolchildren on their way to school.
Then there was an informative talk with the police and the primary school pupils: "Please follow the traffic rules and help us to make our way to school safe," explained the third graders.
After the campaign days, the children took stock: "Most drivers obeyed the rules. We hope it stays that way after the fall break," said the primary school children.
