After a brief discussion in the classroom, the police officers showed the pupils what they need to pay particular attention to in practical exercises in road traffic: Stop lines before crossing the road, looking twice to the left and right, and walking calmly and with concentration directly across the road.
Another focus was on the importance of good visibility. Reflectors on jackets, shoes and school bags were tried out and explained together. The children were able to experience for themselves how much reflectors light up in the headlights and how much safer the way to school becomes as a result.
The police patiently answered the children's questions and made it clear why caution and attentiveness are vital in road traffic. The pupils visibly enjoyed taking part - and in the end, they went back to their everyday lives not only with new experiences, but also with greater safety.
The children were particularly visible with high-visibility vests and neon caps from the annual "Borken district sees yellow" campaign.
The Grüne-Aue-Schule would like to thank the police for their support!
