On Wednesday, the children worked as a class on the question of what diversity actually means. They explored differences and similarities in various creative tasks. For example, they looked at personal interests, strengths, feelings and the fact that everyone is unique. Many children realized that diversity does not divide, but rather enriches life together.
Thursday was particularly colorful and varied: the children were able to choose from various workshops and worked together with pupils from other classes. This allowed them to make new contacts and share experiences.
Numerous aspects of diversity were addressed in the workshops. Some dealt with the feeling of being "different" or with one's own strengths, courage and peace. In other workshops, the children learned about different languages, countries of origin and religions. They danced internationally, created art from all over the world and even tried out baking recipes from different cultures.
The project week impressively demonstrated how diverse our school community is - and that it is precisely this diversity that makes our school special. The two days offered the children many new impressions and made it clear that everyone is different. And that is beautiful.
