As part of the Grüne-Aue School's Mein-Day project, children from the first and second years once again collected donations for a good cause.
After the first successful fundraising campaign in December 2024 "Waffle sale at the Gronau building authority", the children organized another fundraising campaign in Gronau town centre. A few weeks ago, the Mein-Day group visited the main branch of the Sparkasse bank. There, the group had an appointment with Stefan Nadicksbernd, Regional Manager of Sparkasse Westmünsterland. In a brief conversation, the children explained the Grüne-Aue School's Mein-Day project and their plan: to set up a donation stand for a good cause in the entrance area of the Sparkasse's main branch. Stefan Nadicksbernd was immediately enthusiastic about the campaign and the children's commitment and gave his consent.
At the end of February, the time had come: Equipped with a handcart, the children of the Mein-Day group and their teachers Ms. Borninkhof and Ms. Odenbach made their way to the Sparkasse. Once there, the children set up their donation stand in the entrance area and boldly drew attention to their campaign as they approached the Sparkasse customers directly. Many Gronau residents did not take long to respond and gladly threw small change into the piggy bank. As a thank you, the children presented the generous donors with homemade chocolate crossies, decorated ladyfingers or mixed candy bags, which they had made with their teachers in advance. The employees of the Sparkasse branch were delighted with the children's campaign and also donated generously.
During the morning, the primary school children were lovingly looked after and fed by the savings bank employees. As a highlight, they were finally allowed to visit the savings bank's large money vault.
At lunchtime, it was done: the children dismantled their successful donation stand with satisfaction and thanked Sparkasse Westmünsterland for its support. "This is a great campaign! We'd love to come back!" said a delighted Stefan Nadicksbernd as he said goodbye to the children.
