The project began at the start of the semester under the direction of Ms. Krage and Ms. Pöpping. The pupils were divided into two groups according to their interests: Into a drama group and a stage design group. For weeks, the actors and actresses diligently rehearsed their spoken texts, practiced facial expressions, gestures and confident stage presence. At the same time, the stage design team was busy designing backdrops, making props and bringing the play to life visually with a great deal of creativity and craftsmanship.
It was particularly nice that the children were able to contribute their own ideas - be it for the text, the play or the design. This turned the play into a very personal project.
The excitement grew shortly before the performance. For many, it was their first time on a large stage in front of so many spectators. But with the first round of applause, the nervousness gave way to joy and pride at being able to show what they had created.
The performance was a complete success - the audience was thrilled and the children were overjoyed. It was a great finale before the vacations and an experience that will certainly be remembered for a long time to come.
We would also like to thank the high school for the opportunity to bring the play to a real stage!
