The polar bear "Lars" is the class animal of class 1b. Class 1b is therefore also known as the polar bear class. Lars has already had many adventures in his young life, which he likes to tell the pupils in his class about. You can see what new and exciting adventures Lars has had at school with his class here:

Playtime in the polar bear class

On the last day of school before the 2024 fall break, the polar bear class played together. The children were allowed to bring their favorite game to school and play extensively with their classmates in a joint playtime.

There were action-packed, creative and quiet play formats. The children were able to choose according to their interests and spend time together.

It was great fun for all the polar bears!

Class representative election in class 2a

In the polar bear class, class representatives were elected for the first time to coincide with the start of the second year.

This school year, Hasan and Vesna (center) are taking over the office.
They are represented by Luca and Matilda.

School trip to the LAGA site

On 27.06.2024, classes 1a and 1b went on an excursion to the LAGA site.

Once they arrived at the pirate and water playground, there was no stopping them!

There was splashing, splashing and splashing about and no child stayed dry! So it was bearable at 31°C.

As a surprise, there was an ice cream - donated by a parent from class 1a.

Thank you very much! That was exactly right!

Getting in the mood for EM 2024

Class mascot with soccer equipment

On Friday, 14.06.2024, the European Men's Football Championship kicked off and of course this had to be discussed at school. Many children were able to contribute their previous knowledge and explain, for example, which countries are taking part in the European Championship or which flags belong to the different countries... Afterwards, the children had time to work on the soccer booklet.

Everyday teaching in the polar bear class

The children organize themselves during work phases so that they can concentrate on their work. They look for learning aids and places in the classroom that help them to concentrate on their task. It doesn't matter whether they are working on the learning plan in German or math.

14.12.2023: Visit from the traffic police

Police officer explains the correct way to cross the road

On Thursday, 14.12.2023, the traffic police officers, Mr. Knief and Mr. Zorer, came to our class 1b. The police officers explained to the children what clothing is appropriate in road traffic and how to cross a road correctly. After the children's previous experiences had been collected and discussed, it was time to put them into practice. With the help of the police officers, the class practiced crossing the road correctly in traffic on the Alter Postweg.

13.12.2023: Visit to the van Almsick Gallery

Class in front of the gallery

On Wednesday, 13.12.2023, the time had finally come! Classes 1a and 1b were able to set off on their first excursion. The classes took a bus to the former Galerie van Almsick in the center of Gronau-Epe.

Once there, the classes were divided into two groups. The first group was initially allowed to stay downstairs in the exhibition and look at the paintings on display. Ms. Cordula Sandmann worked with the children on the basics of watercolor painting and the different motifs on the paintings. During this time, the second group was able to gain their own experience with brushes and acrylic paint with the artist, Mayo, upstairs in the workrooms. Finally, the class created two collaborative paintings with a polar bear. These paintings will be allowed to move into the school and be exhibited there.

31.10.2023: Halloween at school

Halloween was on the timetable today! The children worked on their Halloween booklets, listened to spooky songs, made Halloween decorations and got a little spooky when the story of Mortina, the little zombie girl, was read to them.

At the end of the day, there was a little Halloween surprise for every child: a lollipop in ghostly garb and a spooky spider ring. It was a spooky day at school!

From apple to juice ...

On 18.09.2023, Mr. and Mrs. Gartmann came to our school with an apple press.

Classes 1a and 1b were able to experience how apple juice is made.

Children cut apples into small pieces

Days before, the children and parents brought bags of apples to school so that there were enough apples to press.

A boy puts pieces of apple into a chopper

First, the apples had to be cut into small pieces and chopped. They were then pressed and the apple juice was produced.

Three boys show their pressed apple juice

At the end, each child received their own drinking bottle with freshly squeezed apple juice.

It was great fun! Dear Mr. and Mrs. Gartmann, thank you very much for this great day!

New resident in the schoolyard

A girl from the polar bear class has found a new resident in the school playground.

Girl shows a snail

After the classmates marveled at the little snail, it was released in a safe place.

From everyday school life...

The children in the polar bear class practise writing/laying/kneading/tracing their first letters.

Organic lunch boxes for every child

On 07.09.2023, the Söbbeke dairy from Epe visited us and gave each child a lunch box with a healthy breakfast.
Thank you very much, we were very happy!
