The Biber computer science competition, which takes place annually in November, has become the world's largest student competition in this field.
A total of 542,997 students from 3,021 German schools took part in the competition in November 2024. The Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium was also represented - students from the sixth grade and participants in the differentiation courses in the 9th and 10th grades demonstrated their skills. Eight students - all male - achieved outstanding results, winning six first places and two second places each. For their achievements, they received a USB stick with the distinctive beaver logo as a first prize, while the second prize was awarded in the form of a scarf.
